Kyra Hanson is a skilled photographer, videographer and filmmaker from Gloucester, Gloucestershire.

Her passion for visual storytelling began at a young age, sparked by an old Olympus Pen camera used to document family holidays. That early fascination with capturing moments grew into a deep love for both still and moving image, shaping her creative identity across film, photography, and video.

Kyra studied a Creative Media Industry HND before completing a BSc in Film with Applied Technology, graduating with First Class Honours in 2023. Her work is grounded in a story-led approach, blending creative vision with technical understanding to create emotionally resonant visuals.

In 2022, she founded KyVisualsUK, offering photography and videography services across a wide range of projects. Alongside narrative film work, Kyra shoots weddings, capturing honest, cinematic moments, and explores music videos, where she experiments with style, rhythm, and visual expression. Her commercial work is informed by a filmmaker’s eye, prioritising atmosphere, pacing, and story regardless of format.

In 2025, Kyra wrote and directed her short film Whirlwind, now available to watch on YouTube. The film marks a defining step in her journey as a filmmaker, reinforcing her focus on mood, character, and emotionally driven storytelling.

Alongside her creative practice, Kyra works in digital marketing and communications, bringing strategic thinking to her visual work. This experience allows her to create content that is not only visually compelling but also purposeful, audience-focused, and aligned with brand identity.

Kyra is currently developing original short films, documentaries, music-led visuals, and future feature projects, continuing to expand her voice as a filmmaker while working across narrative, commercial, and creative spaces.
